When you receive a withheld or private call, simply decline or reject it. OppBlock will then instantly unmask the caller and send you their number via push notification, SMS, and email. This allows you to know exactly who tried to contact you without answering anonymous calls.

What is Silent Call Recording?

Silent Call Recording is a premium feature that allows you to capture an audio log of the unmasked call. When enabled, our system silently records the connection, providing you with an audio file for your records. You can activate this by selecting the 'Record' mode in your account settings. If 'Standard' mode is selected, the private caller will hear a busy tone.

What information will I receive?

You will receive the anonymous caller’s phone number instantly via push notification, SMS, and email. If you have the 'Record' package enabled, we will also provide a silent audio recording of the call attempt when available.

How quickly will I get the result?

Almost instantly, the caller’s number will be sent to you via push notification, SMS, and email within seconds of rejecting or declining the call

Is there a live demo?

Yes, our live demo feed shows our service working in real time. We encourage you to test it yourself! Simply call our live demo number with your own number withheld (by dialling 141 first). Watch as your number instantly appears on the feed, showcasing the speed and accuracy of our technology.

Will the anonymous caller know I’ve unmasked them?

No. The caller will not be informed that their number has been revealed. The process is discreet, and the caller experience remains unchanged.

Can I find out if my ex is calling me from a private number?

Yes. If your ex-boyfriend, ex-girlfriend, or a stalker is trying to hide behind 'No Caller ID', OppBlock will bypass the block. When you decline the call, their real phone number is instantly unmasked and logged in your dashboard so you have proof of the harassment.

Which networks are supported?

We work with all major UK pay monthly mobile providers. Also supporting some prepaid networks, such as giffgaff.

Why does the service only work with certain mobile networks?

Our technology integrates directly with major mobile networks. While this capability is built into most pay monthly phone contracts, some pay as you go plans don't support it yet, which is why compatibility can vary.

What happens if I don’t reject the call?

If you answer a private or unknown call, OppBlock will not be able to unmask the number. You must reject or decline the call in order for the service to work.

Can I block the unmasked number afterwards?

Yes. Once you have the number, you can block it directly using your phone’s call blocking settings or any additional call management services you may have.

Do you automatically block excessively repeated calls?

Yes. To enhance your peace of mind and prevent notification spam, our system includes an automatic protection feature. If a single withheld number calls you excessively (specifically, after 100 attempts), we will automatically stop sending SMS and email alerts for that number. However, every call is still logged and remains fully visible in your dashboard call history, ensuring you never lose a record.

Why do SMS alerts sometimes stop for a specific number?

To protect you from harassment and prevent excessive notifications from a single caller, our system has a two-stage throttling process: Temporary Pause (after the first call from a new number, SMS alerts for that specific number are automatically paused for one hour) and Permanent Stop (if the same number continues to call and triggers 15 SMS notifications, all future SMS alerts for that number will be permanently stopped). All subsequent calls are still logged in your dashboard.

Can the police trace a private number if I report it?

Yes, the UK police can trace a private number by requesting network logs under the Investigatory Powers Act. However, this is a slow process requiring a formal investigation. Many users prefer using OppBlock to instantly unmask the number themselves and provide the definitive proof directly to law enforcement for faster action.

Does it work internationally?

Our service is primarily designed for UK mobile networks. International compatibility may vary and is not guaranteed at this stage.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Simply navigate to the account management section to make changes.

What is your refund policy?

If our system is unable to successfully unmask a private call, you are eligible for a full refund. However, once a private call has been successfully unmasked in your dashboard, the service has been rendered and we cannot offer a refund.
